DDCN has two main components : a data locator and a data archive. They are both integrated into a fully searchable database and presented under the same user friendly interface. The goal of the project is to preserve and make widely available micro and macro data from transition and emerging markets as well as to facilitate the uncovering of the existing data sets.

- Easily find out what data is available, where and under what conditions (nearly 400 studies are described in the data locator component).
- Browse by subject to find data on a particular topic.
- Use the advance search feature and narrow down your search to a specific time period/country/data type, etc.
- Archive your data to ensure the fulfillment of such requirement from granting agencies AND to preserve it for future reference and secondary analysis.
