Media & Artwork
Below is a collection of WDI logos which are available for any official or partners' usage. They are provided in GIF format to retain crisp edges. Although some of the backgrounds are transparent, these should be used only when no other option is available. See rules for details.
The Rules
-
Special effects are not allowed. Such effects include but are not limited to: Dropshadows, neon glow, embossing... the usual filters. If you feel that you have a need which warrants special consideration, please contact Dan Shine for approval or workaround.
-
Use of the transparent logo should be avoided. When unavoidable, the background cannot obscure the logo, the text, and especially, the warm gray "at the University of Michigan". If you feel that you have a need to be transparent, please contact Dan Shine, Manager of External Communications at danshine@umich.edu for approval or workaround.
-
The "Windows" 6 rectangles of the logo should NEVER be anti-aliased, as that disrupts precision of size and placement. If you must alter the size, you must pixel edit the rectangles to be monolithic in color.
-
The Official Color of the WDI logo is a PMS 301. However, since translation to web is spurious, please use this color on web applications: #2F4F6A. It is, by design, not intended to match the Ross Business School blues. Maize is not allowed.
-
The "6 Windows" and the WDI/UM text should never be separated, nudged or justified. But if it is... only the left justified version is allowed. Right justification can be requested after all other options have been exhausted.
-
Although this logo can be easily replicated using the tools of Pagemaker/InDesign, doing so must be pre-approved by Dan Shine. Situations involving spot-color may warrant special consideration. Please ask permission first, rather than beg forgiveness later.
There are 5 sizes which should fit most needs: small, medium, large, Super-Duper and Collegiate. The largest two are suitable for print, while the first three are web resolutions.

DO NOT use this logo without the express consent of Dan Shine.
This is a compromise for when the height of the logo is critical, but renders the text illegible.
